Numb

Differences may keep us apart
But as I lay in bed alone in the dark

My heart yearns to be next to yours
Through the space between my mind soars

Imagining a day where I can be free
Where nothing comes between you and me

Yet I know deep down that day will never come
And following my heart is making me numb
